Bonjour! Bienvenue au petit marché mystérieux.
Il y a un vendeur souriant et une cliente curieuse. Sur la table, il y a une boîte rouge, un chapeau bleu, une clé petite et une pomme jaune. La boîte est magique. Le chapeau est grand. La clé est petite. La pomme est bonne et jolie.
La cliente dit : « Bonjour! Je veux un objet magique, s’il vous plaît. » Le vendeur sourit et répond : « Bien sûr! C’est une boîte rouge. Il y a trois étoiles jaunes. C’est très joli et bon marché. »
La cliente regarde le chapeau. « C’est un chapeau bleu? » demande-t-elle. « Oui, c’est un chapeau bleu, » dit le vendeur. « Il y a deux plumes vertes. »
Au marché, tout est petit, coloré et amusant. Merci, marché mystérieux!

La grammaire du marché mystérieux
1) C’est = “It is / This is”
Use c’est to name an object or say what it is.
- C’est un chapeau.
- C’est une boîte.
- C’est un objet magique.
2) Il y a = “There is / There are”
Use il y a to say something is there.
- Il y a une clé.
- Il y a trois étoiles.
- Il y a un chat bleu.
3) Adjective agreement: colors and size words
In French, adjectives often change with the noun.
- un chapeau bleu (masculine singular)
- une boîte bleue (feminine singular)
- un petit chat / une petite clé
- un grand sac / une grande boîte
Easy rule
- Masculine: often the basic form.
- Feminine: often add -e.
- Some words change more: petit → petite, grand → grande, bleu → bleue.
4) Examples
- C’est un chapeau bleu.
- C’est une petite boîte rouge.
- Il y a trois étoiles jaunes.
- Il y a un grand chat magique.
- C’est une clé verte.
- C’est un objet cher.
- C’est une maison bon marché.

5) Common mistakes to watch for
- ❌ C’est une chapeau bleu. → ✅ C’est un chapeau bleu.
- Chapeau is masculine, so use un.
- ❌ C’est un boîte rouge. → ✅ C’est une boîte rouge.
- Boîte is feminine, so use une.
- ❌ Il y a un étoiles jaunes. → ✅ Il y a des étoiles jaunes. or Il y a trois étoiles jaunes.
- Étoiles is plural.
- ❌ C’est une petite chat. → ✅ C’est un petit chat.
- Chat is masculine.
- ❌ C’est bleu chapeau. → ✅ C’est un chapeau bleu.
- In French, the adjective usually comes after the noun.

Say the sentence aloud:
