Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lesso at https://www.lesso.me and related applications (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Credits Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and other policies referenced here.

If you use the Service on behalf of a school or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract and comply with applicable laws. Teachers must be educators or staff authorized to create instructional materials. Students may only access lessons they are invited to or otherwise permitted to view.

Accounts

• Keep your login credentials confidential.
• Provide accurate account information and update it when it changes.
• Notify us promptly of unauthorized access.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose risk to the Service or others.

Your content

You retain ownership of lesson content, prompts, uploads, and materials you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process Your Content solely to operate, improve, and secure the Service—including AI generation, student delivery, backups, and Explore sharing you enable.

You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have rights to any third-party materials you upload or generate.

AI-generated content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to propose and generate educational materials. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or inappropriate. You must review all materials before classroom use.

Lesso coins (credits)

Certain features consume Lesso coins. New teacher accounts may receive a one-time welcome allocation. Additional coins may be purchased through Stripe. Credits rules are described in our Credits Policy and Refund Policy.

Explore and sharing

If you publish or share lessons with other teachers (for example via Explore), you control visibility settings available in the product. Shared content must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy and Community Guidelines.

Prohibited conduct

You agree not to misuse the Service. See our Acceptable Use Policy for detailed rules.

Intellectual property

Lesso owns the Service, brand, software, and documentation, except for Your Content and third-party materials. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Service except as expressly allowed.

Third-party services

The Service integrates third-party services (including OpenAI, Stripe, Google, and Meta). Your use of those features may be subject to additional terms imposed by those providers.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LESSO AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR LESSO COINS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $50), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Lesso against claims arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, risk, non-payment, or discontinuation of the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive will survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

Changes

We may modify these Terms. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
